Waimea

Privacy Policy

Effective August 26, 2026

The short version

Waimea (“the app”, “we”, “us”) is an alarm and world-clock app. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your information. In short: Waimea keeps your data on your device, does not require an account, and does not track you.

Information the app uses

Alarms, locations, and settings

The alarms you create, the places you save, and your preferences (such as language, time format, and theme) are stored locally on your device using the operating system’s standard on-device storage. This information is not transmitted to us or to any third party. If you delete the app, this information is removed with it.

Location

With your permission, Waimea uses your device’s location to determine your current time zone and to show your current place (for example, the city name) in the app, its widgets, and the Apple Watch app. This happens on your device. Your location and the place name derived from it are not sent to us or to any third party. They may be shared between your iPhone and your paired Apple Watch so the watch can display the same information, and that transfer happens directly between your own devices.

You can grant or revoke location access at any time in your device settings. If you decline location access, alarms still work; the app simply will not auto-detect your current time zone or show your current place.

Notifications and alarms

Waimea schedules alarms and reminders so they ring or appear at the times you set. On supported devices these are delivered as system alarms; on others they are delivered as local notifications. Scheduling happens on your device. You can manage notification permissions in your device settings.

Information we do not collect

Waimea does not collect names, email addresses, contacts, health data, browsing history, advertising identifiers, or usage analytics. There are no user accounts and no login. We have no servers that receive your personal data.

Third parties

Waimea does not integrate advertising networks or analytics services and does not share data with third parties for their own purposes. The app runs on Apple’s operating systems and uses Apple frameworks (such as those for alarms, notifications, widgets, and the Apple Watch); your use of those features is also governed by Apple’s own privacy policy.

Children

Waimea does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children. The app is suitable for all ages.

Data security

Because your information stays on your device, its security is protected by your device’s own protections, such as your passcode and device encryption. We recommend keeping your device software up to date.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date above and post the updated policy at the same location. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
