How do timezone-anchored alarms work?
Each alarm is pinned to a place and its time zone. An alarm set for 9:00 AM in San Francisco rings at San Francisco's 9:00 AM no matter where you are — so your schedule stays correct when you travel.
My alarm didn't ring loudly.
On iPhones running iOS 26 or later, Waimea uses the system's alarm feature to ring through silent mode and Focus with a full-screen Stop and Snooze — allow the "schedule alarms" prompt on first launch. On earlier iOS versions the alarm arrives as a notification, so make sure notifications are enabled for Waimea in Settings, and that the alarm and its location are turned on.
Why does Waimea ask for my location?
Only to detect your current time zone and show your current city. Your location stays on your device (and your paired Apple Watch) and is never sent to us or anyone else. You can decline it — alarms still work; the app just won't auto-detect your current zone.
How do I add a city?
Tap the plus button on the home screen and search by city name or airport code (for example, JFK or LHR). Tap a city's card to add alarms to it.
Widgets or the Apple Watch aren't updating.
Open the Waimea app once to refresh them. Widget and watch data is sent from your iPhone, so they update while the app has run recently. For a stuck widget, remove and re-add it.
